We Do What We Can

And that includes always trying to be better.

Sustainability is close to our hearts and at the core of our business. From product, to packaging and any process in between. We know what we do isn't enough, and are always looking to improve.
One day the dream is to have reusable totes that can be refilled again and again - and we will be sure to get there.

In the meantime, you can read more about our environmental commitments below.

Having worked in ethics and sustainability for the majority of my professional life, I knew that when I finally embarked on my own business adventure, that these two values would be at its core.

  • Packaging

All Collar Club subscription box branded packaging is paper based, meaning that it is 100% compostable. From our delivery boxes, which are made from 80% recycled materials and is 100% compostable or recyclable. Our packaging shred is 100% recycled and is reusable, recyclable, and biodegradable. Why not use it to make your own gift hampers?

We only use Kraft tape to seal our boxes which is both acid & plastic free. It can be added to your normal paper recycling or home compost heap. We collaborate with our partners on continuous improvement to help them source eco-friendly packaging for their products too.

  • Products

Our dog toys are selected for their sustainable features, such as being made from recycled or natural materials or are able to be recycled once your pooch is done with them.

Any toys that contain any plastic must at the very least, have post consumer recycled stuffing, or contribuite to the reduction of plastics in some way.

Natural products must be harvested in a sustainable manner, and in a way that does not negatively impact those collecting / sewing / producing the products, or the environment from which they came.

  • Social Impact

The name Collar Club originates from our Collars for Shelter programme that has been running for our first 4 years of business. This involved taking a percentage of the profits from the sale of Collar Club boxes, and using this to purchase materials to make and donate colourful collars to rescue shelters.

As we have grown, and as the Collars were handmade, we had to look for ways to make a more predicable impact. In 2023, we joined greenspark, an initiative that lets us offset our impact through certified projects that benefit two of the core pillars of Collar Club - People & the Planet. You can learn more about the projects these impacts here.
